Overview and Learning Objectives

Morning Lecture - Cosmetics and Veneers

The consumer’s interest in cosmetic dentistry, specifically veneers, is increasing every year with billions of dollars being spent to obtain a perfect smile. The ability to place believable porcelain veneers is crucial to a good cosmetic dental program. The numerous dental products and myriad of materials that are currently available to dentists can yield some incredible results but can often be overwhelming and or confusing. Without a blueprint and instructions to show the process from start to finish and all the steps in between, it can be quite challenging for many. This presentation will discuss all of the steps necessary to fabricate amazing, life like veneers and when to utilize them.

After completing this course, participants should be better able to do:

  • Veneer preparation design
  • Veneer provisional techniques
  • Veneer try-in and cementation
  • Legal documentation
Afternoon Lecture - Smart Practices For Your Practice

The individual practice of dentistry is in transition now more than ever. Delivering exceptional care requires the entire team to share the same philosophy and commitment to individual dental care, procedures, and techniques, obtaining more new patients and improving one’s revenue. This program discusses modern procedures, materials and technologies that help navigate these changing times so that you can offer better dentistry and increase your treatment opportunities. Modern diagnostic devices and materials to restore teeth with minimal to no intervention along with current concepts in composites and adhesives will be presented. Cosmetic elective procedures will be discussed and how to be more efficient at all aspects of indirect crown and veneer cases. Many different technologies and tools will be presented so that in addition to being able to provide better dental treatment you and the entire staff can be more successful at all aspects of running a dental practice.

Todd C. Snyder, DDS, FAACD, FIADFE, ASDA

Todd C. Snyder, DDS, FAACD, FIADFE, ASDA received his doctorate in dental surgery at the UCLA School of Dentistry and trained at the F.A.C.E. institute for complex gnathological (functional) and temporomandibular joint disorders. Dr. Snyder is the 77th Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. He is also a member of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Snyder has been on the faculty at U.C.L.A. where he helped create and co direct the first (in the world) two year graduate program in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Snyder lectures both nationally and internationally and has been published and featured in many books and dental journals worldwide.

This course will be held at LSU School of Dentistry at 1100 Florida Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana located in the Mid-City area of New Orleans near beautiful City Park and historic Bayou St. John. If you are staying at a downtown hotel in or near the French Quarter, the distance to the dental school is approximately five miles. If you are driving to the dental school, free parking is available in the patient and visitor parking lots located across from the dental school.

If you miss one or more check-ins it could affect your credits. Before the course you will receive three links: a link to the meeting, a link to a short test, and a link to a course evaluation. You must submit the test and evaluation in order to receive credit. The Louisiana State Board of Dentistry counts CE hours earned through LSUCDE live video conference as in-person hours.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:
The Louisiana Academy of Continuing Dental Education, Inc. (d/b/a: LSU Health New Orleans Continuing Dental Education) reserves the right to cancel any course should circumstances warrant such action. If a course is canceled, the Academy will refund the full tuition. If you cancel your registration, the Academy will refund the tuition you paid (minus an administrative cancellation fee).

Written cancellation requests can be submitted by mail, by fax at 504-941-8403, or email at CDE@lsuhsc.edu. If LSU Health New Orleans CDE receives notification of your cancellation after the specified deadline, this will result in forfeiture of your entire tuition.
