The 2019-2020 LSU Orofacial Pain ContinuumTM

A 5-session interactive orofacial pain CE program for dentists and other healthcare professionals. After completing this continuum, participants should be better able to evaluate, diagnose, manage and refer patients who have TMD, sleep disorders & other types of orofacial pain.

Clinical Application of Head, Neck, and Airway Anatomy with Dissection

14 clinical hours (7 lecture, 7 participation)
Course #: 41-19

This course will include an in-depth dissection of the head, neck, and airway over a two-day period; emphasis on osteology, the oral cavity, the nasal cavity, the digastric triangle, and the temporomandibular joint; head, neck, and airway dissected to demonstrate the relationship of structures to orofacial pain conditions including TMD and Sleeping Breathing Disorders. Participants work in two-member teams, each dissecting one-half of a cadaver head.

LSUAnytimeCE- Online Education

Introducing AnytimeCE from LSU Health New Orleans Continuing Dental Education, an online computer-based training (CBT) system that allows you to take CE courses online any time from your home, office, or anywhere! Click here to register for a CBT course.

Two CBT courses are available - a one-hour course on Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office and a one-hour course on Orofacial Pain. (Other one-hour CBT course topics will be introduced during 2016-2017). Register for one or both courses today by creating an account using your email address as your username and creating a password. Click here for instructions on creating your account (make sure to allow pop-ups and have the latest version of flash player).

Once you create an account, it is easy to login any time and register for a CBT course. So you can log back in if you get logged out, be sure to make a note of your username and the password you created. You have 10 days from the date of your registration to complete a CBT course.

During the course, you will be asked to respond to questions covering the topic. These questions must be answered before continuing. At the end of the course, you are required to complete a 10-question knowledge assessment and course evaluation before receiving course credit. After completing the evaluation, print out or save your Verification of Participation letter as a PDF. Because CBT courses are available any time, all AnytimeCE course registrations must be completed online.
