Tuition includes: all supplies, materials, and instruments used in the workshops; breakfast, lunch, and a complimentary
  pre-dinner reception for attendees and faculty on Thursday; and breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday.

Overview & Learning Objectives

This comprehensive hands-on weekend course and will focus on treatment planning and conservative preparations, bonded functional esthetic (BFE) prototype and provisional restorations, and bonding procedures and material selections. After completing this course, participants will be better able to:

  • Establish the basis for an adequate diagnosis, treatment plan, and execution of high-end dentistry in the esthetic zone.
  • Develop clinical skills through “hands-on” exercises for different clinical situations.
  • Utilize a new generation of ceramic materials and understand its indications, contraindications, and limitations, and
  • Apply advanced applications of esthetic treatments with minimally invasive veneers, partial veneers, and minimally invasive crowns.

 About the Presenters

Marco Brindis, DDS is Assistant Professor in the Prosthodontics Department at LSU School of Dentistry where he maintains an intramural restorative practice devoted to esthetics and implants with an interdisciplinary approach. After earning a D.D.S. from the Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City in 1998, he completed: a preceptorship in dental implants at the Universidad Intercontinental in 1999, a preceptorship in dental implants at the dental school of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2002, and a surgical implant fellowship at the Biotechnology Institute in Vitoria Spain in 2003. During 2007, Dr. Brindis received a certificate in prosthodontics at LSU School of Dentistry and completed the esthetic and occlusion courses at the Pankey Institute. Dr. Brindis is very passionate about interdisciplinary dentistry for full mouth reconstruction, esthetics and implant dentistry, and he has been working on the development of new implant protocols to treat edentulous patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, and American College of Prosthodontists, and has lectured nationally and internationally.

 

Milko Villarroel, DDS, MS, PhD is a co-author of five dental books and several articles in the prosthodontics, esthetic and restorative dentistry area. He is on the editorial board of Journal Dental Press of Esthetic (Brazil) and he is a member of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Villarroel earned a DDS from Valparaiso Dental School in Chile in 2000. He completed a Fellowship in Implant Restoration on IEO - Brazil in 2007. He earned his Master of Science in Integrated Clinical from Ponta Grossa Dental School, Ponta Grossa State University in 2004. He received his PhD from Araraquara School of Dentistry, São Paulo State University in 2010. Dr. Villarroel was Associate Professor, Department of Operative Dentistry, Valparaiso Dental School and visiting professor, Department of Postgraduate in Periodontics, Positivo University. Currently, he is director of the CWB Dental Training in Curitiba - Brazil where he conducts hands-on courses on esthetics, prosthodontics and oral rehabilitation. He has lectured in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Mexico, EEUU, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium. He has a private practice in Curitiba-Brazil, the focus of his clinic is limited to esthetic restorations, prosthodontics, periodontics and implants.

The course will be held at LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry located five miles from downtown New Orleans next to historic Bayou St. John and beautiful City Park. The dental school is about twenty minutes from downtown New Orleans by taxi.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is located approximately 30-40 minutes by taxi from both downtown New Orleans and LSU School of Dentistry.
