Millennials are the modern day “disrupters” and they have changed the way we see the world, run our practices, and treat our patients. With technology and materials improving daily, the clinical team must accept the new reality or be left behind. This course is designed to help the office run more efficiently, communicate better, and consistently produce quality dentistry. Dr. Duplantis will discuss various technological advancements including scanners, mills, digital implant workflows as well as advancements in both direct and indirect materials. After this course, the team should leave with a new outlook on systematization and practicing quality dentistry. Although this course has a digital undertone to it, the whole team can benefit from the presentation.

Learning Objectives

  • Millennials – who are they and why are they creating so much change?
  • Discuss the digital tools your office needs for success throughout the lifecycle of the patient.
  • Learn the digital workflow for both the dental team and laboratory and why it leads to predictable outcomes.
  • Discuss new indirect materials and when and how to use them, both chairside and laboratory fabricated.
  • Visualize restorative driven digital implant workflow, including diagnosis, collaborative treatment planning, and final restorative outcome.
  • Discuss successes and how to avoid failures utilizing new technology.

About the Presenter

Chad C. Duplantis, DDS, FAGD received his DDS degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School. He earned a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry and has been in private practice since 2000. He treats all ages with an emphasis on restorative and aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Duplantis has always had an interest in “high-tech” dentistry and has been incorporating CAD/CAM technology into his practice since 2004. Formerly a CEREC user, he is now a user of the chairside system. Dr. Duplantis has also written several articles regarding digital dentistry for various dental publications. In addition to technology, he has a keen interest in adhesion and materials and is a clinical consultant for Glidewell Laboratories and AMD Lasers.
