OVERVIEW

Germs, Sickness, & Injuries at Work: Are We All Safe?

The only way to protect ourselves and our patients is to clearly understand injury and infectious disease risks at work and to have and follow a complete program for everyones safety. We will discuss updates, disease characteristics, risks, transmission, and prevention using Standard Precautions as well as Transmission-Based Precautions. Updates include today's infectious risks found in blood, saliva, on surfaces, in the air, and/or in water. We will also discuss the most up-to-date recommendations from the CDC, ADA, OSAP, State Board and OSHA. Beyond blood-borne diseases, new concerns such as how to manage patients with aerosol-transmitted diseases (ATD's) and management of biofilms that grow in dental waterlines will be covered. This course will help you optimize your efforts, insure reliable results and help you identify the weakest links (limitations) in your safety strategies. Clinical risks will be discussed in the context of today's changing pathogens, new disease treatments, new settings and technology, and social trends.

Maintenance & Sterilization of Dental Handpieces
