Infection control is dynamically integrated into safe dental care and practitioners are eager to comply with best practices, guidelines, and regulations. The first morning lecture will address how to implement the tools from the newly released CDC Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings (2016) and addresses Top Ten infection control topics over the past year. The second morning lecture, called Because You Can't See SterileSM, will review the comprehensive premise of instrument reprocessing through the protocol of transport, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, monitoring, and storage. The first afternoon lecture will discuss how to effectively and efficiently treat dental unit water lines (DUWL) that provide safe water for your patients, staff and practice. The course concludes with a presentation on why selecting the appropriate face mask is a key component to minimize the spread of potentially infectious diseases.
