Course Overview
An updated review course that satisfies the La. State Board of Dentistry's latest requirements to renew a personal permit- no less than once everyfour (4) years- for the purpose of administering moderate oral sedation and/or IV sedation to adult patients only.

Course Faculty

Benjamin R. Record, DDS Benjamin R. Record, DDS
A general dentist in private practice in the Baton Rouge area, Dr. Record received his DDS from LSU. Prior to entering private practice, he served as director of the General Practice Residency Program and assistant professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Biomaterials at LSU School of Dentistry and as director of a dental clinic in Pineville, Louisiana. For LSU Health New Orleans Continuing Dental Education, Dr. Record has directed and taught the Local Anesthesia Update CE Course for dentists and hygienists and serves as the director of the sedation CE courses.
Alfredo R. Arribas, DDS, MS Alfredo R. Arribas, DDS, MS
A board certified oral surgeon and an associate professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Dentistry in San Antonio, he practices as an oral surgeon in private practice in El Paso before moving to San Antonio. Dr. Arribas received his DDS for the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, and completed the following post-doctoral programs: an AEGD certificate from Maryland, a 2-year GPR certificate from LSU, a MS in health care management from the University of New Orleans, and a 4-year oral surgery residency at LSU. He served as director of the GPR program at LSU and associate program director of AEGD at Maryland.

In the event this course is cancelled, the Academy will refund the full tuition. If you cancel your registration for this course, the Academy will refund the tuition you paid (minus an administrative cancellation fee of 10% of the tuition paid). We must receive your written cancellation request no later than March 1, 2019 by mail, fax at (504) 941-8403, or email at info@lsucde.org. If LSU Health New Orleans CDE receives notification of your cancellation after March 1, 2019, it will result in forfeiture of the entire tuition.
