Overview & Objectives

Better Preps, Less Stress...Creating Readable, Workable C+B Margins (morning topic)

Videos and slides will show you what prepped tooth margins should look like, and how to create them. This course will help our team become more efficient in prepping teeth, making impressions, and fabricating provisional restorations. The key to predictable, functional, and esthetically pleasing C+B cases, is producing margins that everyone can see. This allows your lab to build upon a great foundation, the impression-making to be more predictable, and the provisional process becomes faster. After attending this lecture, attendees should be better able to:

  • Digital scanned preps and impressions, what the labs want to see
  • Learn what C+B labs are looking for in the preps and impressions
  • Show how visible margins are created
  • Learn options to manage soft tissue for better access to margins
  • Review techniques in making impressions

Making Efficient, Durable Provisional Chairside Crowns and Bridges (1st afternoon topic)

During the temporization program, participants will discuss common problems of provisional restorations. Participants will learn practical solutions utilizing advanced materials and techniques. Through discussion and/or a hand-on approach, individuals will learn to: improve their temporization technique; achieve excellent esthetic results; reduce chair time; and improve overall patient satisfaction. After attending this lecture, participants should be better able to:

  • Review techniques of fabricating provisional C+B
  • Learn how to make provisional crowns quickly
  • Troubleshoot provisional C+B that have gone wrong

Small Diameter Implants for Dentures and C+B (2nd afternoon topic)

This is a comprehensive overview of the scientific aspects and clinical applications of small diameter implants (SDI). These implants are easy to place, create minimal soft or hard-tissue trauma to the patient, and have the ability to be immediately loaded and provide function. This service can be rendered to a wider spectrum of patients due to their affordability and the fact that they are well tolerated by otherwise medically compromised patients. After attending this lecture, attendees should be better able to:

  • Learn how SDI can benefit your existing denture patients
  • Learn how to properly evaluate and diagnose SDI candidates
  • Recognize the indications and contraindication for the use of SDI
  • Shown through slide presentation and video, the surgical procedure of placing SDI
  • Review Denture Stabilization and C+B Application of SDI
  • Learn how SDI can be incorporated into your practice
