Overview & Learning Objectives

After completing the 2½ day comprehensive literature review and update course, participants will be better prepared to explain:

  • Current concepts, particularly as they relate to management of patients with advanced periodontal diseases and dental implant therapy
  • New developments and specific topics covered in this overall review and update in periodontics
  • Systemic diseases' influences on periodontal disease, patient management, and periodontal medicine
  • Management of office emergencies and the diagnosis of oral lesions. 

About the Presenters

This course is led by course director Bryan S. Pearson, DDS, MS. Dr. Pearson is a clinical professor in the department of periodontics at LSU School of Dentistry. Together with approximately 12 additional course faculty, Dr. Pearson leads this comprehensive review and update course.

Course Location

The course will be held at LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry located five miles from downtown New Orleans next to historic Bayou St. John and beautiful City Park. The dental school is about twenty minutes from downtown New Orleans by taxi.

Please make your own airline and hotel reservations as soon as possible because New Orleans is busy with many events and conventions at this time of year. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is located approximately 30-40 minutes by taxi from both downtown New Orleans and LSU School of Dentistry. For your return flight, please allow about 90 minutes for the trip to the airport and for airline check-in.

If LSU Health New Orleans CDE receives notification of your cancellation after the specified deadline, this will result in forfeiture of your entire tuition.
